Overall:

Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel, provides support to the General Manager and is able to substitute to the GM in almost all of his missions.


Essential Duties and Mission:

  • Provide a memorable guest experience by creating a welcoming, fun and friendly atmosphere for guests.
  • Create a positive and exciting team-oriented environment, which focuses on 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Responsibility for developing and directing all aspects of the day to day hotel operation by coordinating with all departmental managers ranging from food and beverage, front desk, maintenance, housekeeping to administrative staff.
  • Responsible for achieving hotel, restaurant and bar profitability through revenue generation, cost control and guest satisfaction.


Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply Mama Shelter's standard operating procedures
  • Supporting the manage a team of 100 + staff members
  • Promote the Mama Spirit by ensuring each individual employee is happy and motivated at all times
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, developing, evaluating and retaining staff
  • Creates and maintains positive guest relationships
  • Assist with overseas field and sales strategy on a daily basis
  • Work closely with General Manager on e-marketing and social media campaigns
  • Maintain high standards of food, service, health and safety
  • Assist with manage and forecast budgets and financial plans as well as control expenditures
  • Control food and beverage cost, analyze new menus and follow up on the quality of service
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with suppliers ensuring the business receives competitive pricing
  • Conducts effective department meetings


Preffered Experience

  • Management must be fast-paced, hard working, hands-on, polyvalent, friendly and fun.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of running an F&B operation
  • Strong experience in hotel/resort/hospitality environment wherever in the world
  • Strong F&B experience with knowledge of kitchen general organization
  • Strong on site presence and availability
  • Passion to create unforgettable positive guest experiences
  • Exceptional guest service and inter-personal skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality
  • Can-do and will-do attitude and approach
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Sharp and creative problem-solving skills

  • Ability to balance customer and business priorities and take quick decisions

Skills/Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a high volume hotel or restaurant. Proven food and beverage management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on relevant or same position
  • Formal education: minimum high school diploma. Relevant education in hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Micros systems softer.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluent English
  • Basic knowledge of French would be appreciated
  • Ability to anticipate needs and wants of guests while balancing business needs of the Company.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible work hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks.
  • Passionate and creative.
  • Works great in a team.
