Overnight US Operations & Compliance Specialist (Remote)

Location: Serbia (Home-based)

Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM CDT (05:00 – 13:00 CET)

The Role

As an Overnight US Operations & Compliance Specialist, you serve as the critical operational link between the US-based fleet and the home office during overnight hours. Your primary focus is on ensuring uninterrupted fleet movement through proactive “block and tackle” logistics, while maintaining a strong compliance bridge with the Safety Department.

This role requires a high level of accountability, real-time decision-making, and the ability to manage urgent operational challenges independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Live Asset Monitoring

• Actively monitor fleet movement using Samsara Live Maps, ensuring all trucks and trailers remain on route and in motion. Promptly investigate and address any unplanned stops, delays, or route deviations to minimize operational disruptions.

Maintenance & Breakdowns

• Take full ownership of the roadside assistance process. In the event of breakdowns (e.g. tire failures, engine faults), coordinate with 24/7 service vendors, secure timely repair solutions, negotiate estimated time of arrival (ETA), and ensure all activities are accurately documented in McLeod and Google Workspace.

Compliance Monitoring

• Continuously monitor driver Hours of Service (HOS) and safety-related events via Samsara. While direct intervention is not required, you are responsible for identifying, logging, and escalating all potential violations and “Red Zone” alerts to the Safety Department in a timely and structured manner.

McLeod Data Integrity

• Maintain complete accuracy of the “Active Board” in McLeod. Ensure real-time updates of load statuses, arrival and departure times, and detailed check-call notes to support operational transparency and continuity.

Morning Handover

• Prepare a detailed End-of-Shift report in Google Docs, summarizing fleet status, mechanical issues, compliance alerts, and any critical events from the shift. This report ensures a smooth and informed transition to the US-based morning operations team.

Requirements & Qualifications

English Proficiency

• Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate in a professional, technical, and clear manner, both written and verbal.

Communication & Escalation Discipline

• Demonstrates strong sense of responsibility in immediate reporting and strict adherence to the established chain of command. Ensures timely and accurate escalation of all critical issues.

Maintenance Awareness & Operational Mindset

• Solid understanding of maintenance processes within a fleet environment, with a strong sense of urgency aligned to “Block & Tackle” operations. Able to prioritize and act quickly in time-sensitive situations.

Technical Proficiency

• Highly tech-savvy, with the ability to navigate McLeod Software (TMS) and Samsara with confidence and efficiency. Proficient in using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) for real-time documentation and reporting.
