Job Overview: A Freight Track and Tracing Specialist plays a crucial role in the logistics and transportation industry. They are responsible for monitoring and tracking shipments, ensuring they move smoothly and efficiently from origin to destination. The specialist uses various tracking systems and communication tools to keep stakeholders informed about the status of shipments, troubleshoot any issues that may arise, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shipment Tracking:
• Utilize freight tracking software and systems to monitor the movement of shipments from pickup to delivery.
• Ensure real-time visibility of shipments and update tracking information regularly.
• Communication and Coordination:
• Liaise with carriers, drivers, and other stakeholders to obtain shipment updates and address any concerns or delays.
• Provide timely and proactive updates to customers, partners, and internal teams regarding shipment status and expected delivery times.
• Issue Resolution:
• Identify and resolve any delays, disruptions, or issues that may occur during transit, taking appropriate actions to minimize impacts on delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with relevant parties to implement corrective measures and prevent future occurrences.
• Documentation and Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shipment tracking data, including relevant documentation and communication history.
• Prepare reports on shipment performance, transit times, and delivery metrics.
• Customer Service:
• Respond to inquiries from customers and internal teams regarding shipment status, tracking information, and delivery-related questions.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance:
• Ensure compliance with freight regulations, customs requirements, and company policies throughout the shipping process.
• Verify accuracy of shipping documents and resolve discrepancies, if any.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in tracking and tracing operations.
• Work with relevant teams to implement changes that enhance overall performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management are advantageous.
• Proven experience in freight tracking, logistics coordination, or a related field.
• Familiarity with freight tracking software and systems (e.g., TMS, GPS tracking systems).
• Knowledge of transportation regulations, customs procedures, and industry best practices.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective coordination and customer support.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously.
• Problem-solving skills to address shipment-related issues promptly.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and office software.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
